Ingress Protection: a sealing protection rating.
First
digit refers to protection from solid particles. Second digit refers to protection from liquid ingress. IP68 is
dust-tight and may be immersed in water deeper than 1m (the highest possible rating).
PolyVinyliDene
Fluoride: a highly non-reactive, pure and mechanically strong thermoplastic fluoropolymer.
PVDF is employed in applications requiring the highest resistance to solvents, acids, bases and heat.
The minimal distance that can be measured by a level sensor.
Targets closer to the sensor are reported incorrectly. The Gauger line can measure targets as
close as 15cm to the sensor while still retaining a long range of 8m.
Ultrasonic distance measurement is sensitive to
air temperature. For applications exhibiting temperature gradients, Gauger products provide superior temperature
compensation, resulting in higher accuracy, by utilizing an external temperature sensor in addition to the
internal one.
Device cloning refers to a rapid configuration of field devices
all to the same settings. Gauger systems can be configured by downloading a text file into the device.
The download process is quick and simple using a laptop USB port.
PolyCarbonate /
Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene. Plastic is UV stablized
against long-term degradation from Ultraviolet light.

ADVANTAGES and BENEFITS
- Extremely short "dead-zone" of 15 cm (6")
- High process tracking rate of 10m/min (32'/min).
- No field calibration and minimal maintenance needs.
- Two operating hours counters for tracking utilization.
- A friendly wizard-based setup or USB PC-based
cloning.
- Allowing battery based operation with three 3.6V Li cells.
- Advanced algorithms combating against:
Noises, temperature variations, unstable targets, gases
- Automated temperature compensation for
2 temperature sensors.
- Volume is reported in Liters (Gallons) for cubical and cylindrical tanks.
Gauger485 is a perfect solution for applications interfacing an external modem, PLC or laptop.
The use of serial character-based output is simple, reliable and more accurate than 4-20 analog interface.
When viewed directly on a PC or laptop, no custom software is required. Data may be viewed by
standard hyper-terminal applications.
